There was a tournament yesterday in Aarschot, so an excellent opportunity to take the Tyranids out for a meal! The first opponent was a bit too hard to digest though. Dennie had a very good looking army (and very good army) built around 3 Maulerfiends and 3 Heldrakes supported by 2 Helbrutes. Although I could finish off the Fiends, the Heldrakes proved too much for me and I was completely wiped out. A very scenic moment was when one of the Heldrakes did a vector strike on the two last Carnifexes (with both 2 wounds remaining), causing 4 wounds! The dragon literally picked them both up and ripped them apart in the air. Dennie won the tournament later that day, so well done!! Second battle was against Geert's Space Wolves. This time, things went a little better for my bugs as my Tervigons kept on spawning new Termagants to swarm the board with - as you can see in the pictures below. The immense swarm of chitin overwhelmed the Space Wolves, although Logan Grimnar stood strong and refused to fall beneath the sea of claws. Third and final battle was against Tom and his Chaos Marines with Daemon allies. Me and Tom have to do battle almost every time in Aarschot, always leading to very fun games. This time it was no different. In the end, two Zoanthropes babysitting a lone Termagant made it across the board to deny his objective, which won me the game.

The Wolves didn't like being digested, but the game was a lot of fun.

Hmm, are those Carnifexes a unit?? If they're single separate models, then the Helldrake couldn't vector strike both. You can only choose 1 target over wich you flew to vector strike.

Yes, I always use a brood of 3 Carnifexes so the Heldrake was in his right to pick them both up :)
