I don't see why he can't use that particular name as it is Egyptian, and should be un-copyrightable. The rest are unique enough to trademark, but not Horus.
Ehhh, well, technically that may be true, but maybe with enough money and lawyers and an incompetent judge that might not be good enough. I recall this small mini company, Paulson Games, that made "bio swords" that were obviously--albeit not exclusively--intended for Tyranids, and GW sued them. GW's evidence against the company, from what I recall, consisted of a forum post. Or something. Anyway, long story short, the lawsuit failed, but it had to be annoying to deal with.
So I guess the moral of the story is, better safe than sorry. At least I figure that's why WMS doesn't just use the names of the characters instead of sound-alikes.
